Aussie – going down under?

AUDUSD 15 min chart

Hi Everyone,

Am watching the AUDUSD with interest, and waiting for all my signals to align for a potential short. The pair has been in an up trend during the London session, making higher highs and higher lows. Several things indicate the the pair may be ready to turn. (i) it has broken it’s trend line, (ii) MACD is below the mid line, (iii) RSI is diverging (when price was making a higher high, RSI was making a lower high) and (iv) I’ve got one out of three signals aligned in my Serene strategy to show a short.

Patience is the name of this game – please remember to do your own analysis.

Yen – potential short

Morning Everyone,

Looking at the USDJPY chart the pair is setting up for a short.

1. Price below the 200 SMA

2. MACD below the mid line

3. Getting a sell signal on my Serene strategy

The only thing I would like to see is price taknig out the daily Pivot, as this has been an area of support.

Swissie going down?

USDCHF 15 min chart

Morning Everyone,

I’ve taken USDCHF short, for the following reasons:

1. Broke a trend line and the 50 SMA

2. MACD below the mid line

3. Getting a sell signal on my Serene strategy

My caveat is watch for the daily Pivot and the 200 SMA – price may find support there.

Loonie – 120 pips!!!

Hi Everyone,

Today our Serene strategy gave us 120 pips on the Loonie!!

Reason you would have taken this trade:

1. Price below the 200 SMA and the daily Pivot point.

2. MACD below the mid line

3. Getting a sell signal on the Serene strategy.

Alas, I did not take this trade – was focusing on other pairs 😦

Yen – going up?

USDJPY 15 min chart

Hi Everyone,

Markets are movng sideways at the moments – and I’m waiting for a breakout. The USDJPY is starting to give me signs of breaking to the up side:

1. Price above the R2 level and taking out previous resistance.

2. MAs aligned

3. Buy signal on Serene strategy

My only caveat is that MACD is still below the midline – if I wanted to be extra cautious I’d wait for it to come above the mid-line.

Swissie going up?

USDCHF 15 min chart

Hi Everyone,

Was watching the USDCHF and have taken the pair long. Reasons for taking my trade:

1. Broke above the 200 SMA and held

2. MACD below the midline

3. Getting a buy signal on my Serene strategy.

My only caveat is that the pair has been oscillating for a while and it may continue to do so.

Yen – making money going up & down

USDJPY 15 min chart

Hi Everyone,

This morning I blogged a set up in the USDJPY – a trade I took.

I entered a long at 94.03, because it closed above the 50 SMA, short-term trend was up and was getting a signal on my Serene strategy. I did caveat in my blog that there could probably be resistance on the daily Pivot and the 200 SMA. When price bounced off the 200 SMA – I closed out my position.

In the afternoon, I saw a similar set up going down: Price was below the daily Pivot, moved below the 50 SMA, MACD below the midline and I was getting a signal on my Serene Education strategy. I took the trade at 93.99, placing my stop 19 pips above my entry and closed my position when price started coming back above the S2 level – locking in on 54 pips of profit.
